As the country reels from a global pandemic, Central Illinois' leading healthcare system, Carle Foundation Hospital, called on me to support COVID-19 media relations needs. I quickly became an extension of their PR and communications team during a critical messaging moment in their organization's history. My primary role was to engage with regional media and help build trust in resuming non-emergent care at Carle once the initial lockdown expired in late Spring 2020.
When the global food processing and commodities trading corporation Archer Daniels Midland (NYSE: ADM) launched their Feeding Your Food Business campaign, they contracted me to help support the global rollout. I contributed both on strategy and in content creation for the company intranet, reaching internal audiences with business-critical messaging.
From contributing in the final phases of the concept development, to launching the flagship location and helping open two additional locations, Lodgic Everyday Community has relied on me to lead strategic public relations efforts in Champaign, IL; Madison, WI; and Louisville, KY as the national brand continues to grow and nourish aspirations of modern working families across the country.
Working as a sub-contractor for one of Dallas' top PR firms, Cooksey Communication, I helped spearhead the launch of the Catholic Diocese of Dallas' $125 million capital campaign. This included communication plan development, conceptualizing a kick-off event at the cathedral in downtown Dallas, and writing remarks for Roger Staubach (Dallas Cowboys, '69-'79'). The campaign has since surpassed its original goal.
University of Illinois Extension is a legacy land-grant university, providing research-based information and programming to communities across Illinois, and beyond. As the organization takes active, intentional steps to own their position as a relevant, go-to, trusted resource for Ag and Natural Resources, and Youth Development, the organization called on me to help pursue innovative communication approaches for engaging and serving their target audiences.
Safran is an international high-tech group, operating in the aviation defense space market. As the organization closed a major production facility in Maryland and moved operations to Texas and Mexico, as a subcontractor at one of Dallas' top PR firms, HCK2, I lead the development of a plan that helped make this organizational change more manageable for all stakeholders, with employee communication, government and media relations all part of the strategic plan.
